The Tweed railway can be installed using the Open Rails (OR) railway simulator and does not require MicroSoft Train Simulator (MSTS) to be installed. Up to now, this has always been considered virtually impossible to achieve. The 'Holy-Grail' of MSTS users has always been to have a 'Global Folder' for Shapes and Textures. Route-Riter - Setting up Common Shapes/Textures for MSTS.

As a general rule and as already stated, Open Rails provides all route functionalities that were already available for MSTS, plus some opportunities such as also accepting textures in.dds format. The report says also that microtex.ace would be missing from the route, but microtex.ace is in the terrtex folder and in the terrtex/snow folder. I assumed there would be created an ace file after painting, and the filetype used for the brush wouldn't matter any more.Įdited: I removed all references to jpg files from the *.t files and replaced them with the default "terrain.ace" but that did change nothing. I never used them as terrtex files though, but it is possible that I painted parts of a tile with them. grass30.jpg) maybe these are the problem. Unfortunately I cannot test the route with MSTS, I couldn't persuade it to run on my computer since Windows 7. In comparison your RE is comfortable, stable and fun to use, thank you and I beg you, do not abandon it! I have some experience with MSTSRE and all its quirks. First I want to say that I love your RE and use it a lot to build routes, it was the cause for my returning interest in trainsimming and route building. As I said I'm not sure and pity again, that I'm not allowed to post on Elvas Tower, where one could discuss such issues and hope for solutions from Goku. But OR doesn't like -11e0e2b4_0_10.ace in a place where it doesn't seem to belong. 11e0e2b4_0_10.ace could look exactly like JP1industrial.ace if TSRE has not changed the file back and renamed it JP1industrial.ace. The problem with picking a terrtex file is that it is sometimes impossible to determine if it is a freely useable file like e.g. If I pick coincidentally a TSRE created terrtex and put it somewhere new, there seems to be trouble not with TSRE but with OR.
I tend to put texture files I previously picked from one tile for speeds sake. Maybe I found a problem but I'm not sure if it is connected with the vanishing tiles: TSRE doesn't (always?) remove the newly created terrain texture files when they are replaced with run of the mill multiple usable ordinary terrtex files. Strangely in TSRE still everything looks ok.
